App Permissions & Justifications
When you use the Tooligo mobile application, we may request certain device permissions. These permissions are requested only where necessary for the app to function properly and to provide specific features. Below, we explain why each permission is needed and how it is used.
1. Location Access
The app may use your location to display items or services available near you, helping us provide more relevant results.
• Location access is optional.
• You can enable or disable location sharing at any time through your device settings.
• Location data is used only while the relevant feature is active.
2. Camera Access
Camera access may be required for features such as:
• identity verification during rentals,
• scanning QR codes for item handover or return,
• uploading photos related to listings or delivery confirmation.
The camera is never accessed in the background and is activated only when you choose to use these features.
3. Notification Permission
Notification access allows us to send you important updates such as:
• rental status changes,
• delivery or return reminders,
• security or account-related alerts,
• optional promotional messages (where you have given consent).
You can continue to use the app even if notifications are disabled.
4. File / Media Access
File or media access may be required when you choose to:
• upload photos (for example, damage reports or item condition photos),
• select images from your device gallery.
Files are accessed only when you initiate an upload and are used solely for the relevant transaction.
5. Background Location Access (Where Applicable)
Certain features may require location access in the background, for example:
• navigation or route-related functions.
Background location access:
• is requested only where strictly necessary,
• is clearly explained at the time of request,
• is enabled only with your explicit permission.
6. Managing Permissions
You can review, manage or withdraw any app permissions at any time through:
• the app's settings, or
• your device's operating system settings.
